|Great Hall | Arsenal | Metz, France
Carmina Burana: the title means "songs of Beuren," from the name of the Bavarian abbey where the medieval poems that inspired Carl Orff were found. After the score's famous prologue, the work exalts pleasure, love, eroticism, money, and wine, in a caricature of human failings.
