About
The purity of an exceptional voice
Valérie NICOLAS continues her career today with passion as Principal Alto in the main choir of the Orchestre de Paris, under the direction of Richard Wilberforce and Klaus Mäkelä, performing ambitious works by Vasks, Fauré, Escaich, Mahler, Poulenc, Mozart, Donizetti, Beethoven, Brahms, Ligeti, and Ravel. She has worked with some of the world’s leading conductors, including Esa-Pekka Salonen, Gustavo Dudamel, David Reiland, Speranza Scappucci, Omer Meir Wellber, Andris Nelsons, Frank Strobel, Alain Altinoglu, and Martina Batič.
She has performed in some of the most prestigious concert venues, such as the Grande Salle Pierre Boulez at the Philharmonie de Paris, the Philharmonie Luxembourg, the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique in Paris, the Basilica of Saint-Denis, and Saint-Sulpice Church in Paris. Her performances are featured in renowned seasons and festivals, including the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, alongside major orchestras such as the Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre National d’Île-de-France, Orchestre National de Lille, the Gewandhaus Orchestra of Leipzig, and the Staatskapelle Dresden.
Valérie NICOLAS is currently preparing upcoming seasons, actively attending auditions and refining her personal programs, including “Mélodies françaises”, accompanied by pianist Marie-Anne Faupin.
Her first stage appearances at the age of twelve confirmed her desire to pursue an artistic career. After many years dedicated to classical dance and later to jazz repertoire, she studied voice with Brigitte Reach and Nicole Lambert, while regularly performing with various ensembles (rock band, jazz quartet, rock opera), as well as in French chanson and cabaret repertoire alongside pianists Eric Ferrer, Thierry Pichat, and François Weigel in Paris, Toulouse, Nice, Marseille, Nancy, and internationally in Spain and Tunisia.
Selected for several stage productions and television programs (TF1, Disney World Resort…), Valérie NICOLAS possesses a natural stage presence and a vocal range that allows her to embrace an exceptionally wide repertoire, from Piaf to Barbra Streisand, and from Whitney Houston to George Gershwin.
From pop to opera,
